TEMPORA/CONTEMPORA FEST #7

Corpi tra riti e miti

TEATRO, DANZA, MUSICA, CINEMA, LIBRI, INSTALLAZIONI, ARTE CONTEMPORANEA

The sounds of wars

and the harmonies of those who heal wounds

With the seventh edition of Tempora/Contempora, we continue our exploration of the languages of the body in the performing arts, because it is still and always the body that moves passions — the noblest and the fiercest ones — that shapes practices, those of resistance as well as those of conformity, and that creates our imaginary worlds, both the poetic and the colonized ones.
We are living through a scenario of wars that makes us all more restless and vulnerable, yet at the same time it imposes the urgent need to imagine and act towards a different world, restoring to art and culture their original regenerative function and mission. Within bodies and within the spaces of our cities, memory and history reside, but the desire for the future and for liberation beats strongly. We therefore try to break the cages of disciplines, languages, genres, and self-referential identities.

We give space and attention to the new generations, with an open and curious gaze towards the international scene and towards the artists and guests joining us from Poland, Palestine, North Macedonia, France, the Netherlands, and South Korea.

We want to celebrate the ten years of activity of the Accademia Mediterranea dell’Attore with the same enthusiasm, the same energy, and the same courage that marked its founding moment, because “the music continues” — as Koyo Kuoh wrote — “the songs of those who create beauty despite tragedy, the melodies of those who flee and rise again from the ruins, the harmonies of those who repair wounds and worlds.”
